USPS has announced that it will increase its postal rates in August 2021. This change does not affect First-Class Mail or any other mailing products. However, if you are mailing a light-weight letter or flat up to 13 ounces, you may want to consider using Certified Mail instead. Then again, if you are sending something bigger, you may want to consider using Express Mail instead. The USPS is committed to keeping its prices as low as possible.

The US Postal Service is an independent agency of the US federal government that provides postal service throughout the United States, insular areas, and associated states. As of September 2017, USPS shipping rates increased only slightly. The only major changes were in the price of First Class Mail and Flat Rate pricing. Priority Mail and Priority Email will remain unchanged at $0.55. While there are other price hikes, the overall price of letter mail is likely to stay the same at $0.55.
The average increase in prices for Priority Mail, Large Envelopes, and First Class Package Service will be about 3.6% higher. The Commercial Base (online postage) rate will start at $3.01 and rise to $7.02. These increases will affect Commercial Mail and all of the other services. In addition, the maximum size of a Commercial First Class Mail Postcard has been increased to six inches by nine inches. In addition, you can no longer pay extra for guaranteed delivery by 10:30 AM.
